It’s been several days since my last writing to you. Very strange for me, I know. I’ve been writing, but not to you, at least not here. You’ve all been on my mind and in my prayers. I have so much to tell you. Lots of things happening here. Great, awesome and terrifyingly wonderful things. It’s for another post though….another time….a little later…

For now, I want to share with you how encouraged I’ve been. All these changes, and on the most trying of days, have been met with such great words of encouragement. I’ve always been so conscientious about encouraging others, but for now, in this season, God has been pouring them on me. I’ve needed it. I’ve needed it a lot more on some days than others, and He knows that. He always knows that. He always gives it freely.

A simple text, an email, a short voicemail message, a Facebook message, a message on Twitter…..all so small, so quick to do, yet make such a huge impact on one’s day, or moment. I call these divine interventions. Ever felt that? The sudden urge to contact someone? To give a positive word, or simply ask how they’re doing? Don’t dismiss it. Go with it. It could change a life. It will change a life! It’s part of a big plan that you’re privileged to be part of!

An encourager leaves people full and refreshed. God has cornered the market on encouragement.

You’re never more like God than when you are encouraging people

When our lives get hectic, when our legs ache, our throats burn, and our whole body cries out for us to stop running this marathon we call life….this is when friends and family are most valuable. The cheers, the encouragement help us push through the pain to the finish.

A word of encouragement offered at the right moment can be the difference between finishing well and collapsing along the way

Let me encourage you today to find a needy person and enrich them; a lonely person and include them; a misunderstood person and affirm them; an undiscovered person and develop them; a failing person and restore them. And, go to a leader today…the one that is always so strong….and encourage them. Speaking from experience, because we are so strong, people forget we sometimes need to lay down, rest, and receive a good word of encouragement too. Be sensitive to God’s using you to bless others in this way.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…..(1Thessalonians 5:11)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God (2Corinthians 1:3-4)
